Meet the Ashleys

steve ashleyRev. Steve Ashley

Steve Ashley was born and raised in Ashe County, North Carolina. As a boy, he came to know the Lord, but did not fully surrender his life to Christ until he was older. Steve was called into the ministry in 2009 and licensed in 2010. In 2012, he was ordained at Bald Mountain Baptist Church where he served as associate pastor for four years.

Steve has a passion for people. His desire is to take the Word to this broken world and see souls saved. He loves preaching and also has a burden for the imprisoned. With the world we live in, many of us have been traumatized by our past mistakes and poor decisions. Steve realizes that Jesus is the One to restore us rather than the things of this world. His passion is to be a vessel of God and proclaim to the world that God wants to comfort, heal, and put back together. Although the enemy continues to steal, kill, and destroy, Jesus binds up the brokenhearted, proclaims freedom to the captives, and releases prisoners from the darkness. God will mend the broken. The world has yet to be reached and his desire is to do everything in His power to help rescue the lost here and around the world.

Samara Ashley was born in Clearwater, Florida. As a pastor’s kid, she was raised in the church where her dad pastored for over forty years (First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks) in Largo, Florida. At the age of seven, she gave her life to the Lord. Samara went on to pursue a nursing career and graduated from St Petersburg College in 2001 with her nursing degree.

Samara has always had a passion for people. She doesn’t know a stranger and has enjoyed working with the public for years. She also enjoys writing and in 2015 published her first book, “Broken to Blended: Encouragement for Blended Families.” She has a desire to reach out to the broken and those discouraged through divorce and step-parenting or blending of families. Steve and Samara merged their own families in 2008, then later had Levi in 2012. With a family of seven along with the complications of blending a family, Steve and Samara have learned first-hand how important it is to rely on the Lord.

Today, Samara speaks to women’s groups, blogs at SamaraAshley.com, leads Bible studies at their Christian café, The Harvest Café in Jefferson, North Carolina, and co-leads the Blended Family Ministries Conferences with her husband, Steve. Her ultimate desire is to see souls saved and to give hope to the broken.
